Just look at all that crocheted cotton yumminess!
It takes exactly one 2 ounce ball of cotton, 37 chain stitches and about 1300 (give or take a few) single crochet stitches to make one of these hot pads.
Don't you just love it?
And look how thick it is!
It even has a loop so you can hang it near your stove.
Mmmm mmmmm good!

ReplyDeleteMary Grace- this is a beautiful pattern for hotpads. I am about 1/2 done making mine from your pattern and noticed the part where I have the 37 chain stiches in the beginning with single crochet in every opening is creating these big holes all the way across . What am I doing wrong?
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say for years my Grand Mom has been making these as pot holders and hot pads then one day my Mom told her to make it bigger and in the process I make a 5 square by 7 square blanket trimmed each holder with a granny edging then put together with a slip stitch and ending is with granny crochet all around 2 times makes a full sized top for a full sized bed <3 <3
ReplyDeleteMy mother gave me this pattern over 30 years ago. I must have made hundreds for my family and friends. You really need to warn the users of this product to never use if wet or damp. The heat goes through them and can burn you.
