Butterfly Garden Quilt Underway!
2012 seems to be getting off to a great start in the sewing department here at Hooked On Needles! After piecing the backing for Karen's quilt, which I showed yesterday, I got busy on my next quilt project which uses this lovely Butterfly Garden fabric from Kansas Troubles...
These are all the layer cake pieces I will be using in the quilt, almost the whole layer cake...just seven pieces are not used. I might piece those extras into the backing. We'll see.
These are the five prints that I chose for the sashing posts and all the other prints will be the blocks and the second border. The pattern I am using is called Easy as Cake from the Moda Bake Shop, and so far it has been lots of fun to prepare and piece. I made some good progress on it yesterday while the kids were in school and I'll share pictures of it soon.
Another project I am hoping to jump into this year is a radiant star quilt, with encouragement from QuiltSue and her cohorts over at Quilt Times. Go check out this fun idea that she has proposed. I have a quilt kit perfect for this project just sitting on my shelf so I think it is time to get it down and give it a go.
Happy Stitching!

What a nice, easy quilt design! With such lovely fabrics, it will be gorgeous!
I like the Lone Star QAL. I've made a Lone Star - and it was hard! If I find it I'll post a pic.

Hi Mary Grace!
Thanks for coming to my blop the other day. I'm glad someone else has used that Closet Maid system and likes it! So far I like it. we just need to find the time to get the rest of it done.
