Susie's Quilted Cinch Sack - My RJR Fabrics contest entry

It's (almost) all in the bag - the RJR Fabrics Summer Solstice bag contest that is! You all know how much I love bags, so when RJR Fabrics announced this contest on Facebook, I just had to sign up! The deal was that the bag you make had to use at least one of their new Summer Solstice fabrics, and any other fabrics in the bag had to be RJR Fabrics.

So I set to work thinking and stewing and designing, and at last I was ready to cut into the wonderful fat quarter bundle of Summer Solstice that I had ordered from Hawthorne Threads.

Here's what I came up with...

Susie's Quilted Cinch Sack - My RJR Fabrics contest entryIt's a super cool, sturdy, quilted cinch sack with pockets on the inside and even a hook to keep track of your keys! And isn't that fabric just gorgeous?

Susie's Quilted Cinch Sack - My RJR Fabrics contest entryIt measures about 14 inches wide and about 19 inches tall, so it is generously sized for holding lots of stuff!

Susie's Quilted Cinch Sack - My RJR Fabrics contest entryIt is even reversible! So one day you could be all fancy and floral, and the next day you could be all funky and fun!

Susie's Quilted Cinch Sack - My RJR Fabrics contest entryThere are three side pockets on the inside to organize all your stuff that you don't want getting lost in the great abyss of your bag, like your wallet or cell phone or kleenex package that you should never leave home without. Also included, but out of view, is a strap on the side seam with a swivel hook on the end that falls down just inside one of the pockets to which you can attach your keys so you can find them quickly and easily.

This bag pattern is a great stash buster for using up odd bits of fabric or fat quarters. In fact, this pattern calls for exactly 4 fat quarters and uses them up entirely with only one cut required!

In a few days, you'll be able to check out all the bags in this contest on Facebook and vote for your favorite. The bag with the most votes wins! To tell you the truth, I'm not even sure what the prize is, but it sure would be fun to win! You can go to the Facebook button on my sidebar and become my Facebook friend so that you will be sure to know when the voting opens.

Once the voting begins, I will also be announcing a giveaway to celebrate the offering of my second original pattern in my Etsy store. There will be two prizes given away. If you love bags too, you really won't want to miss this!

Happy Stitching!

  • The bag is adorable! I'll be voting for it. I'm going to buy the pattern too. I just bought some fabric for making bags and this pattern is perfect for it.

  • Hi there! I just found your blog through a random internet search for "knitted items close up" and would like to thank you for posting pics of your work. You are a very talented crafter and I'd like to invite you to visit my blog too (I'm just getting started in the blogosphere and could use all the help you can give, thanks!).
