Just a quick post for today...busy weekend. After getting involved in the Stitcher's Angel Swap, my own 100th post giveaway, the Fall Into Fall Quilter's giveaway and a Christmas Ornament Swap all in a short period of time, I was having a hard time keeping track of the Really Super Sites I was finding along the way. Here are a few ways to keep track of your favorites so you can go back to them on a regular basis:
The easiest is to bookmark, or add to your favorites, the home page of the site. This puts that page onto a list which can be easily referenced whenever you want to visit the site. In Firefox and Internet Explorer, Ctrl-D will bookmark a page for you or add it to your favorites. Sometimes I find my bookmark list just gets too cluttered so I was glad when I discovered...
Feedburner, where you can subscribe to all your favorite websites that offer the service (mine does...check on my sidebar!) and either read the new posts using your favorite web-based news reader, or you can choose to have new posts delivered to your email inbox. The email option is what I do for my very favorites. Then they greet me every morning as soon as I check my mail.
Another great feature I recently discovered from Google Blogger is Following. It's a feature recently added to the Dashboard of Blogger where you can add your favorite websites and Follow them publicly or privately. Blogger even has a cool little widget that you can put on your own blog to show who is Following your site and to encourage others to Follow as well. Once you become a Follower of a site, every time there is a new post on that site, it shows up on your Dashboard. Very cool. This how I keep track of sites where I have entered a giveaway, or signed up to participate in a swap, or when I know something is coming up that I don't want to miss. I have found it to be a very convenient feature.
