300th Post Coming Up Soon! Time to Celebrate!

This giveaway is now closed.
Thanks to all who entered!

I just noticed that the 300th post of Hooked On Needles will be coming up very soon, like in the next 10 days or so. I think that is something to celebrate, so I am going to have a giveaway! Hooray! I love giveaways! I love having them, and I love winning them too!

Of course if you have been keeping an eye on this site lately, you know that I just can't seem to get enough of making these cotton dish/wash cloths. So the prize for this giveaway will be a set of 4 cotton cloths, or a set of 2 cloths and 2 woven hotpads, in the winner's choice of colors.

Time to Celebrate!
All you have to do for a chance at winning this giveaway is leave a comment on this post with the information requested in the next paragraph and some way to get in touch with you. If I cannot reply to your comment, or find your email address easily through your own blog, please make sure that you include your email address within your comment.

In your comment, I would like to know if you have ever used a handmade cotton dish or wash cloth and what you think of them compared to a factory made, store bought cloth. And then, of course, I would like to know what color or color combination you would like to have if you win. I will try my hardest to accommodate any color scheme.

Please feel free to share this giveaway with your own blog readers, and others whom you think may be interested. The more, the merrier, right? If I get a comment from more than 50 different people, I will draw two winners and each will get the same prize in their color choice.

The winner will be announced on my 300th post, whenever that happens to occur. Just so you know, this post is number 290! I never thought I would find so much to say about needlework!

Happy Stitching!

  • WOW 300 posts = an incredible achievement - congratulations (in about a week or so, lol)!

The knit dishcloths I've used over the years wore like iron and didn't get smelly as fast as regular dishcloths. Since I haven't got started working on my OWN dishcloths, I'll hope to win some of YOURS, LOL! Any color is fine except white - I'm easy! Thanks for such a great giveaway !

I never tried it, but I would like to try it. I think that lime green colour and yellow or any else colours would be great!

  • congratulations on 300 posts. I must say that crocheted dish cloths is not something I have tried, but I have noticed them about on blogland. They must be good. They seem too pretty to put to such a use, but I guess I would try it out of curiosity. And I love the hotpads you have been making too. If I were to win, I think I would choose a burgundy colour scheme. Thanks for the chance!

  • One of my aunts once gave me a handmade dish cloth. It was the best dishcloth I ever had, way better than any manufactured cloth. I have been working on one for a learning to knit project. It seems like its taking me forever. Of course I started a more pressing crochet project in the middle of it. I like the denims color, that's what I'm using for for the one I am working on. I hope to try the tunisian one when I get a chance. My choice of color would be any type of blue. A comment on my neglected blog will send me an email or try quietspirit101 at gmail.com

  • I love these dish cloths! They sort of add extra scrub with their texture. I would love a happy yellow set. Fingers crossed!

  • I absolutely LOVE cotton knit disk cloths....they are so flexible as compared to the yucky sponges I sometimes use. I have bought myself some dishcloths at craft shows, but I'd love to have some of yours. I guess the colors that would go best with my kitchen are any of these: pale orange, any shade of green, yellow/gold, or brown/tan. Actually, I'd use ANY color, though, if I'm lucky enough to win! Congrats on 300 posts...what an accomplishment!!!

  • i love the dish cloths.. I have never used them really, except and my grandmothers, but maybe I could convert! I like fun whimsy colors, but not so bold are great too.

Congrats on 300 posts! and finding stuff to blog about that people will follow! that's tough.. my blog fizzled out especially after I had my second son, although I did blog today for the first time in a long time.

    do you have a facebook?

Congrats early on your 300th post! I LOVE your blog!
    God Bless You,

  • Many years ago I crocheted some dishcloths and gave them as gifts. They were so fun to make and everyone loved them. They were my favorite dishcloths. I like all colors...yellow is my favorite and my kitchen is country greens and reds. Any color or combination would make me happy. Congratulations on 300 posts..that's awesome!

  • I'm so glad you enjoyed your package! Sometimes it just makes you feel happy and special knowing that something fun is on its way just for you.
I don't think I've ever used a handmade dish cloth and I am very curious if they are better or not. One thing about store ones is that no matter how often you wash them they tend to get smelly pretty fast. It would be great if there was a magic ingredient in the homemade ones that kept them from doing that!
    Congrats on your 300th post!

  • Oh, color choice if I win! My kitchen has a lot of Americana, so I'd probably pick blue and creamy whitish or red and cream.

  • Oh, Mary grace, you know I really don't know much at all about home-made dishcloths - one way or the other, I will try one! They haven't appeared on the scene here in Australia - I have talked to Girlfriends about them!

  • Wow, didn't we have a great swap? Everyone received such nice gifts! Congrats on your 300th blog post! I've decided that what our sad world needs is everyone to blog and send gifts, that would cure a lot of ills! Thanks for participating in the swap. Thanks for the offer of your dishcloths...I know how wonderful they are. :) Sheri

  • I love reading your blog and once I get some things off my knitting needles, I plan on learning to crochet too (I've always wanted to make a granny square blanket).
Never used knitted or crochet dishclothes, but I hate how thin store-brought ones are so homemade ones should be a welcome change.
My favourite colors are purple, yellow, white and black but I love surprises with colors ;)

  • Congratulations on your upcoming 300th blog posting! Kudos to you! I thoroughly enjoy reading them and am glad I happened upon your blog when doing a search on crocheting.
In all honesty, I have never used a handmade cotton dish or wash cloth! Can you believe it? So unfortunately, I am unable to give an opinion of them at this time. However, I'd love to try them and see how they work. Maybe I'll get lucky and win a couple! ;o) I am not picky about color schemes when it comes to dishcloths and hot pads, so should I win, just surprise me with colors of your choice. :o)
