Hooked on Needles

Have you ever...

pressed fusible webbing with the wrong side up?

Well, have you?

Oh, you first want to know if *I* have?

Hmmm.

Maybe I have, maybe I haven't.

But just in case you do it, by accident of course, I just thought you might like to know that if you let your iron cool off, then gently wash the plate with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and a little warm water, you can remove that nasty sticky stuff very easily.

Oh, do I sound like I'm speaking from experience?

Well, maybe I am, and maybe I'm not.

I'll never tell!

Happy Stitching!

  • You made me smile - think all of us have done that! Soft Scrub rubbed on the cool iron also works!!

  • That Mr. Clean Magic Eraser sure is handy!

  • Been there myself!
Another suggestion for cleaning it off... I use Dritz "iron-off" hot-iron cleaner... Works great! You put a small amount on a paper-towel and glide your hot iron over it. Done! 8-)

  • I use white vinegar on it whilst the iron is still warm and then rinse with cold water....have had lots of practice cleaning adhesive off! White vinegar in a spray bottle with water is also great for getting bolt marks/creases out when ironing and also seems to help get rid of the 'sizing' for those like me who are too impatient (or lazy!) to wash the fabric before using it!
