Tranquility Mini Quilt ~ Finished
They say timing is everything. I had signed up for the New Beginnings Mini Quilt Swap over at Quilting Gallery and not too long after that I found the Modern Mini Quilt Contest over at Ellison Lane Quilts. So now that I am finished making my mini quilt for the swap, it is time to show it off here and then link it up to the contest and see how I do. Regardless of the contest results, I am quite pleased with my mini quilt and I do hope that my swap partner will like it as well.
And there it is...all 19 square inches of it! There are 81 blocks in that 19 square inches, so that gives you an idea just how small them are!
Each print square finished at 1 1/2 inches...
...and each sashing strip finished at 1/2 inch.
With the leftover blocks, I made this little mug rug, which I think will actually be my entry into the contest. There is only one entry allowed per person, so I had to choose between the mini quilt and the mug rug. I haven't completely made up my mind about this yet, but anyway one or the other will be entered!
These will both be sent off together to my swap partner, along with whatever other goodies I pick out for her. It's always so fun to imagine a stranger receiving a package full of special treats! That's why I love swaps!
