Jungle Animal Baby Quilt ~ Quick and Easy Gift!
Some people call them "cheater quilts" but I don't think they are cheating at all! A good quality quilt panel with a bright and cheerful design on it, layered with batting and coordinating backing, and bound with a fun print using handmade bias binding is just as much a quilt as any other, don't you think? And they sure make wonderful little play mats for a baby, or snuggly blankets for the crib or stroller.
Check out this baby quilt I made recently to give as a baby shower gift for lovely Mindi whose baby boy is due very soon...
Isn't that just too cute? I purchased this panel and the coordinating backing fabric on one of my summer vacation fabric shopping expeditions to Keepsake Quilting a few years ago. It's hard to find good panels anymore, but Keepsake always seems to have a good selection available.
Here you can see the very cute backing fabric with all those darling little happy animals on it! I just think any baby who gets to crawl around on or under something this cheerful is bound to be a happy baby!
Happy Stitching!

It is just lovely - cuddly, not 'cheaty' at all!

Adorable - the jungle theme is so popular right now. I know this will be a treasured shower gift.
